Exploring the town's history through displays of historical items and informative explanatory materials, the Springfield Museum covers everything from the first settlers, the Briggs family in 1848, to the Native Americans who inhabited the region to modern developments and city expansion. One floor of the museum is dedicated to special exhibits, covering facets like the impact of the railroad on the Springfield community and quilts crafted by locals. The museum is located in the heart of town, a few blocks east of the river.
